Deadmau5 gets a lot of money to play house music at nightclubs.  On one night back 2011, he was planning on getting more.  On February 21, 2011, Deadmau5 did a show at XS, which is a club at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Hotel Resort.

A high stakes gambler named Don Johnson (not the actor) said that he'd pay Deadmau5 $200,000 if he played Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer.

Deadmau5 did just that.  In fact, Johnson got on stage and danced around during the song.  Video is below.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Johnson refused to pay up.

The deal was brokered through William Morris Endeavor, the talent agency that represents Deadmau5.  So, Deadmau5's agent and the club owner decided to split the payment in order to keep Deadmau5 happy.

William Morris paid $150,000 and the club owner paid $50,000.

Apparently, the story does not end there.  The club owner, Jessie Waits, sued Deadmau5's agent regarding the payment of a loan.  So, Deadmau5's agent and WME countersued.

A judge threw out part of the claim and the parties are coming to undisclosed settlement.

All because this happened.
