Paul McCartney released an album called New on Tuesday. So, he's been doing a lot of press leading up to the release. The Beatle sat down with Sky News and addressed his career and the current state of pop music.
The interviewer asked McCartney about Miley Cyrus' controversial performance at the MTV VMAs. McCartney was not bothered:
"I don't think it was explicit at all. You couldn't see anything...You look at it and you say, 'What's everyone shouting about?' She's a young girl, she's like only 20 or something, and she's just having a go. Someone said to me that the world that people like Miley live in is all noise and they've got to get above the noise. So they've got to do something."
McCartney was also complimentary of the current state of pop music. The musician said he was a fan of artists like Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars.
