The Inner Harbor Water Wheel in Baltimore received its first major flow of trash on the morning of Friday, May 16th.

The Water Wheel is a part of a project to clean up the harbor.  The idea is to have a swimmable, fishable harbor by 2020.

The Water Wheel is powered by 30 solar panels and the water current.  The wheel can collect and remove 50,000 pounds of trash a day.  On Friday, it quickly filled the dumpster.

Watch how it works.
