President Obama expects the Senate to start debating an immigration bill next month, and he's confident Congress could pass a bill this summer.  Obama told Spanish-language TV network Univision yesterday that a bipartisan group of senators is very close to reaching final agreement on a bill.

Comprehensive immigration reform is one of the top priorities of Obama's second term.  He has said he would propose his own immigration bill if negotiations in Congress break down.  But he wouldn't say yesterday that he'll do that even if lawmakers don't introduce a bill in April.
