Vince Neil says he expects to be back in action. He tweets:
Just out of surgery. Spent night in hospital probably have to again tonight. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers.— Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) March 11, 2013
Huge thank you to all the paramedics at the All Phones Arena, the ambulance paramedics, the nurses, doctors and Staff.— Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) March 11, 2013
Doc says I should have a full recovery and be back onstage for the Brisbane show tomorrow. Thanks to my bandmates and crew for your support!— Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) March 11, 2013
Neil's medical problems surfaced Sunday night during Motley Crue's concert in Sydney. The band had to cut their show short, and at the time bassist Nikki Sixx told the crowd that Neil had been in pain the entire night.
In a Facebook post Monday Sixx explained that Neil was suffering from a bout of kidney stones, which needed to be surgically removed. He also praises the singer for his attempts to perform in such pain. Nikki said he's "seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments but he never ever cancels," adding "Just like an athlete you sometimes have to play through the pain." Still, Sixx says Sunday night the pain was just too "excruciating."
Motley Crue is currently on the Australian leg of their "Monster Tour" with KISS.
