Plane Slides On Runway at BWI

It only takes a small amount of freezing rain and sleet to cause major travel issues. Not only did Wednesday morning's weather event cause numerous accidents on the roadways in the area, but BWI airport was also affected.

According to reports, Southwest Airlines flight 906 heading to Montego Bay, Jamaica slid on the BWI runway as it prepared for it's takeoff at 10AM. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The plane slid to the end of the runway but did not go off of the runway. 

BWI Airport Fire and Rescue are on the scene to determine the cause of the mishap. All 149 passengers on the plane were transferred from the plane and will be put on another flight.
