Chainsaw Nun Who Became A Folk Hero After Irma Just Got Some Amazing News

INJOSister Margaret Ann, principal of Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School in southwest Miami-Dade County, Florida, wasn't going to let damage caused by Hurricane Irma in September get in her way.

So she did what any nun in a similar situation would do — fired up a chainsaw and sprung into action on downed trees.

As reported by the Fox News, video of the sister in action shot by a Miami-Dade Police Department officer was posted by the department on social media, where it went viral, turning her into an instant celebrity.

So much so that Due South Brewing Company in Boynton Beach, Florida, named a beer in her honor — appropriately labeled “Nun With a Chainsaw IPA”.

Doug Fairall, marketing manager for Due South Brewing, called Sister Margaret Ann's actions a “very South Florida thing,” as reported by SouthFlorida.com:

...

We’re having fun with it, for sure. But it was a serious event that took place here. She symbolized us all being brought out of our element to do what had to be done.

It’s a very South Florida thing with hurricanes and storms. We all have to act like her.
