Maroon 5 is following in Travis Scott 's footsteps.

On Tuesday (January 29), the band, along with the NFL and Interscope Records, announced that they have donated $500,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America ahead of their Super Bowl LIII halftime show performance. "Playing the Super Bowl has been a dream of our band for a long time," frontman Adam Levine told People in a statement. "We thank the NFL for the opportunity and also to them, along with Interscope Records, for making this donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, which will have a major impact for children across the country."

Maroon 5's donation comes just weeks after Travis Scott confirmed that he will be joining Maroon 5 for their Super Bowl LIII halftime performance. As previously reported, Travis agreed to take the Super Bowl stage under one condition: The NFL make a $500,000 donation to the charity of his choice. "I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it's in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation," the "SICKO MODE" rapper explained in a statement. "I am proud to support Dream Corps. (an organization "founded by Van Jones in 2014 to help cutting-edge initiatives grow big enough to impact millions of lives") and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."

As fans know, this year's halftime show has sparked quite the debate given the the on-going NFL boycott . Many have slammed Travis for agreeing to perform alongside Maroon 5, claiming he was overlooking the NFL's alleged blackballing of Colin Kaepernick , who spearheaded the kneeling movement in protest of police brutality and racial injustice.

Big Boi is also set to perform during this year's halftime show, and it was recently announced that Gladys Knight will be singing the National Anthem.
