Slayer Warns Fans Of Ticket Scam Suggesting Comeback Show

Slayer says it has no plans to come out of retirement and that any advertisements for tickets to upcoming shows are either mistakes or scams.

The legendary thrash metal band played its final concert on November 30, 2019, but took to social media Thursday afternoon to warn fans about "inaccurate information" on tickets to the Sweden Rocks festival this June.

"There are tickets being offered on Viagogo for a Slayer performance at Sweden Rocks June 2020," the band wrote. "Buyer beware this is a resale site with inaccurate information. SLAYER WILL NOT BE PERFORMING."

Slayer began its final world tour in 2018, explaining that the band's remaining co-founders, bassist/front man Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, were losing enthusiasm for the road and interested in pursuing other ventures.

In addition to the loss of co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died of liver failure in 2013, Araya cited his chronic spinal problems as emblematic of the band's relentless schedule.

King added that he has interests beyond Slayer that he's not been able to pursue because of how much energy the band required.
