The Maryland Department of Health is planning to launch an online dashboard that allows the public to see how many people have received a COVID-19 vaccine and where it was administered.

The state plans to launch the tracker "in the coming weeks" as the first doses are given to frontline healthcare workers and those in nursing homes.

"We know that information is important for our public, for the people that we serve, and so we want to be transparent," says Acting Deputy Secretary for Public Health Dr. Jinlene Chan.

Information that is reportedly being shown includes the number of vaccines given by county, age, race and "other demographic information."

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan says that every hospital and every nursing home in the state should start receiving the critical vaccine "in the next two weeks."
