After DC, Maryland, and especially Northern Virginia were impacted by the first snowfall of 2022 on Monday, another weather system could be even more snow to the region later this week.

According to AccuWeather, a clipper storm is expected to bring light snow to the Central US before tracking to the Mid-Atlantic and New England. As the system moves across the Great Lakes region later on Wednesday, it could draw in an extra burst of cold air and strengthen.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham says, "The storm will either strengthen and track toward the coastal Northeast with heavy precipitation or remain relatively weak and take a more easterly path off the middle part of the Atlantic coast with generally light precipitation later Thursday night and Friday."

They say should the storm remain relatively weak, it would take a path across DC and Baltimore before heading north to New York City and drop some small amounts of snow, but enough to disrupt travel further in the area. Current forecasts predict anywhere from 1 to 6 inches in the DMV. It will be worth keeping an eye on.
