Adult entertainment venues in the city of Baltimore will be allowed to reopen on Friday.
The decision comes days after the owner of the Penthouse Club sued the city, claiming while other types of entertainment venues are being allowed to reopen, strip clubs have been shut out.
The office of Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott released this statement on Wednesday night:
The City updates its executive orders based on trends in the City’s COVID-19 reopening indicators, as it has throughout the pandemic. This has included, at times, reopening different types of establishments while providing clear requirements for those businesses to operate – including use of face coverings, social distancing, and other relevant guidance. The City will continue to enforce its executive order, and establishments allowed to open will need to follow all relevant health and safety guidance from the CDC, State of Maryland, and City of Baltimore.
The new rules go into effect at 3:00pm on Friday.
