Seven Baltimore City Cops To Be Federally Indicted for Racketeering

Seven Baltimore City Police Officers are to be federally indicted for a racketeering conspiracy, according to Fox Baltimore. The announcement was made the morning of March 1st.

The officers are being accused of robbing victims and submitting false overtime claims among other charges.

The seven officers named are Momodu Bondeva Kenton Gondo, Wayne Earl Jenkins, Evodio Calles Hendrix, Maurice Kilpatrick Ward, Jemell Lamar Rayam, Daniel Thomas Hersl and Marcus Roosevelt Taylor.

The accused cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars in overtime pay, with many of those hours not haven been worked at all, according to allegations.

Officer Jenkins earned over $83k in overtime between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016, nearly as much as his annual salary. He allegedly submitted 8 hours of overtime each for five days in one week in July 2016 when he was actually on vacation in Myrtle Beach.

Jenkins, Hendrix, Taylor and Ward also stole approximately $200,000 from a safe and other property from a search location according to the report.
