Following the Orioles 5-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, O's third baseman Manny Machado ripped the Red Sox organization in a profanity-laced rant to reporters.
Just over a week passed since Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes was suspended for intentionally throwing a pitch at Manny's head. And on Tuesday's game, Sox pitcher Chris Sale threw a pitch that ended up behind Machado's knees during his first at bat.
When Machado came back to the plate in the fourth inning, he had to dodge another pitch that came close to hitting him.
That was apparently enough to tip Machado off the scale.
After the game, Machado told Orioles TV broadcaster Gary Thorne, "I lost mad respect for that team and organization."
Later, he went ballistic when surrounded by reporters. He said he's tired of getting thrown at intentionally and for the Red Sox for letting it continue to happen. He also voiced his issue with pitchers getting suspended for an insignificant number of games whereas he would get suspended for weeks in regards to altercations.
