Marvel Films just released some new promotional materials for the upcoming movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, and fans are confused by one of the posters.
The poster depicts the main characters in the film, and if you didn't know, Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role as the beloved Iron Man.
It's without a doubt that Downey's portrayal of the character is perhaps the most popular in all comic book movies in the past 20 years. And if you didn't know this poster was for Spider-Man: Homecoming, you might think it's for an Iron Man film featuring Spider-man as a sidekick.
Even watching the latest trailer, it's obvious that Downey overpowers Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
We can't blame Marvel for adding a familiar face to the film. The Spider-Man movie franchise has been less-than-stellar since Spider-Man 3. If having Iron Man take over this new Spider-Man movie makes it a good movie, then hey, that's cool, but then is it really a Spider-Man movie? Or Iron Man 4... feat. Spider-Man?
Fans have been roasting the new poster. This one pretty much nails it:
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7th.
