Ravens OL John Urschel Is Retiring

Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman John Urschel has decided to retire, according to a statement released by the team.

The 26-year old, perhaps better known off the field for authoring a paper on complex mathematics and his pursuit of a Ph.D. in mathematics from MIT, has decided to call it a career in football to focus on his passion for academics.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said, "This morning John Urschel informed me of his decision to retire from football. We respect John and respect his decision. We appreciate his efforts over the past three years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Urschel was drafted by the Ravens in 2014 and played 40 games for the team including 13 starts.
