In a recent game between the San Francisco Giant and Toronto Blue Jays, perhaps the best strike-three call in the history of baseball was made. It did not happen in the World Series, and did not decide the outcome of the game, but it will forever be remembered.
Two dudes dressed up like umpires and sat in the two seats directly behind home plate. They even gestured with the count in the at-bat. When the Blue Jays pitcher nailed the inside corner on a 1-2 count at the top of the first inning for the strikeout, the official ump gave the strikeout move, mirrored by the two other umps in the stands.
Classic. Amazing.
