Ravens Crush Dolphins 40-0 But Lose Flacco to Concussion

The Baltimore Ravens showed up strong on a short week to dominate the Miami Dolphins 40-0. The Ravens go to 4-4 on the season and break a two-game losing streak.

The Ravens took control of the game early in the first quarter when QB Joe Flacco slung a 34-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin in the end zone.

The Ravens defense had no trouble containing the Dolphins last-ranked offense. Miami's star running back Jay Ajayi was held to just 23 yards on 13 carries and backup QB Matt Moore threw for 176 yards on 44 attempts.

The Ravens were up 20-0 at halftime after a pair of field goals by Justin Tucker (including a rare miss) and a short TD pass from QB Ryan Mallett to TE Ben Watson. Mallett entered the game late in the second quarter after Joe Flacco took a hard hit to the head that upset many Ravens fans.

After the Ravens offense put up 20 in the first half, and their defense helped out with 14 of their own points with another 20-point half.

C.J. Moseley grabbed a Matt Moore pass attempt and took it 63 yards to the end-zone. Later in the fourth quarter, Buck Allen fumbled a handoff near the goal line that was covered by WR Chris Moore in the end-zone for a score. Finally, Jimmy Smith swooped in to pick off Moore and took it 50 yards to the house.

The Ravens travel to Tennessee to face the Titans in Week 9, and then the team has a bye week.
