New iPhone 'Text Bomb' Causes Phones to Crash, Restart

A software developer has found a bug affecting iPhones and Mac computers that causes them to crash and sometimes restart. Abraham Masri discovered the flaw which is being called a "text bomb." The "text bomb" is a link to code that activates the bug. A user does not even need to activate the link for it to affect their phone, causing it to crash or restart.

The bug also affects users of OS X, causing the Safari browser to crash. Masri claims the bug was reported to Apple before announcing it on GitHub, a popular computer programming website. The flaw is considered to be more of an annoyance than a serious security flaw. The bug is expected to be fixed with a new software update coming soon.
