Want to feel old? 13 Going on 30 came out fourteen years ago. While that fact alone is enough to make you feel like time is simply flying past you, Jen Abidor from Buzzfeed took it one step further by reporting that the actor who played Young Matty in the iconic film just turned thirty in real life. This is important to note because, of course, the film follows a 13-year-old girl named Jenna who gets sprinkled with magic wish dust and instantly glows up into a 30-year-old version of herself (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I, too, will turn into Jennifer Garner when I turn thirty). She instantly goes looking for Matty, her childhood best friend, who transformed into the handsome Mark Ruffalo.
So, how did the 13 Going on 30 casting director's decisions hold up? Well, here's Mark Ruffalo as 30-year-old Matty:

The resemblance is definitely there. Marquette just celebrated his 30th birthday on June 30, 2018, so, it was also his golden birthday. I wonder if he celebrated by drinking rosé and watching 13 Going on 30 on Netflix because that's what I've been planning to do on my thirtieth birthday since I first saw this film in middle school.
