Ben & Jerry's ice cream has long been known for it's creative varieties that taste amazing.
Now, they plan to roll out an ice cream infused with CBD oil.
There's only one thing holding back the release of it for public consumption: CBD is still not legal on a federal level.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) still prohibits using CBD – a chemical compound found in marijuana – to be added to food and drinks. However, the FDA is holding a hearing to discuss "scientific data and information about the safety" of CBD products which could lead to a pathway to legalization.
Ben & Jerry's wants its customers to support the legalization of CBD to be added to foods by leaving a comment on Regulations.gov.
