Camden Yards Now Has Voter Registration Booths Open Inside the Stadium

Starting at tonight's (July 12) game against the Tampa Bay Rays, there are registration booths inside Oriole Park at Camden Yards for people to sign up to vote.

The booths, which will be located at the women's equality exhibit behind home plate and in the left field upper deck concourse.

Orioles spokesperson Greg Bader says the booths are "to encourage fans to be an active part of our democracy."

The voter registration booths will be open for the remainder of the team's home games in the 2019 season, but on Friday home games only.

The idea to encourage fans to register at games stems from the new women's equality exhibit which opened about a month ago. The exhibit encourages fans to learn more about women's history and "the struggle for women to obtain the right to vote in this country so that it is not a right that is taken for granted," adds Bader.

The exhibit will be open through the 2020 season.
