Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh Seeking Clemency from President Trump

Confederate Monuments Taken Down In Baltimore

Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh is among those seeking help from President Trump as he reportedly plans to issue 100 pardons in his last day in office.

Pugh is hoping Trump will commute her three-year sentence, according to a database of clemency appeals on the U.S. Department of Justice's website.

The White House reportedly finalized a list of pardons and commutations on Sunday.

Pugh was elected mayor in 2016, and later pleaded guilty in 2019 to a fraud scheme regarding her self-published "Healthy Holly" children's books.

Pugh reportedly grabbed over $850,000 from the books which failed to print thousands of copies, were double-sold, and were used for "self-promotion."

As she was being investigation, it was also uncovered that she had laundered illegal campaign contributions and failed to pay taxes.

The former mayor began serving her three-year sentence in late June at a prison in Alabama.
