Baltimore's popular Artscape Festival, which was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID, is returning in 2022. But, the festivities won't take place during their normal time of the year, instead moving to September.
The Baltimore Office of Promotion &The Arts announced the return and schedule change. Artscape seems to always end up taking place on some of the hottest days each year in the city, so the move could come as a relief to many.
The Office explained that it typically held Artscape in the third weekend of July since it was able to use some buildings in the vicinity of Midtown-Belvedere and Station North, including the University of Baltimore, while they were available due to summer break.
Officials say they are "taking this time to reimagine [the office’s] most popular festivals, like Artscape, to bring back these events bigger and better in the future."
"Over the next few months, we’ll work with local creators, brands, and organizations across the city to design an inclusive, forward-thinking event — guaranteed to make Baltimore proud," they added.
