Kim Beatty is a wife and mother to two step-sons and live on a 45 acre farm in Hampstead, MD. She was a police officer in Washington, DC for 23 years, and a K9 handler for 17 of those years, and have a bachelors degree from Virginia Tech in Animal Science. Prior to becoming a police officer, Kim worked as a research biologist in both the private sector, and then at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Kim enjoys learning new things, especially those things that have to do with homesteading and the outdoors, so soapmaking naturally fell into that realm, and my science brain found the chemistry of soapmaking and formulation fun and challenging. Janice and Kim taught themselves to make soap the "old fashioned way" back in 2017 and did it as a hobby for several years before deciding to make it a real business in 2020. Kim retired from the police department in April of 2022 to devote her full-time attention to Goose Ridge Soaps. Janice and Kim were able to grow the business with the help of a third silent partner and open our new retail shop and production facility in February of 2024. Kim’s retired police K9, Della is also now the unofficial greeter and shop mascot at Goose Ridge Soaps and is affectionately referred to as The Soap Dog.

Janice Campbell is a wife, mother of two and lover of animals, nature and hiking. She has been making cold process soap since 2017 and have been the Owner/Partner of Goose Ridge Soaps, LLC since 2021. Prior to that she was a police dispatcher before leaving to be a stay-at-home Mom. When she re-entered the workforce, Janice was lucky enough to be able to work some very interesting jobs. Janice worked on two farms, did a summer at a small equipment repair shop and was a barista on a coffee truck. In 2020 her and her family to Hampstead, MD. Kim & Janice decided to make their soapmaking hobby into a real business. Today, being a soap maker and small business owner is my full-time job. Janice is very grateful to be able to do what she loves for a living and share it with the community.
